OUR STORY

Born as twins after loss, we are
our parents’ living gift. Inspired by
that love, we create clothing that
feels like a gift—so everyone can
feel seen, valued, and special.

Herbert and Welbert Adjei Darko, youngest African designers to present a fashionshow in Switzerland

DARKOS was born from identity, movement, and purpose — and became the youngest African designers to present a fashionshow in Switzerland. Founded by twins Herbert Adjei Darko and Welbert Adjei Darko, the brand began long before the first garment was created. Our journey started in the modeling industry, where years of working with designers, stylists, and creatives exposed us to the power of clothing and self-expression.

Over time, fashion became more than work. It became language, emotion, and vision. As models, we understood that the industry constantly evolves, and we wanted to create something that could grow with us beyond the runway. That vision became DARKOS.

More than a clothing brand, DARKOS is a reflection of comfort, confidence, and identity.

COMFORT AS A GIFT

The name DARKOS comes from our surname, Darko, which means “GIFT”.

Our garments are designed to feel like gifts to the people who wear them — pieces that allow individuals to feel seen, heard, respected, and completely themselves.

DARKOS blends masculinity and femininity to create freedom in expression. We believe fashion should move beyond labels and allow people to exist confidently in their own identity.

Every piece is designed with emotion, movement, and individuality in mind.

DARKOS is not simply clothing.
It is comfort.
It is confidence.
It is a gift.

FIRST FASHION SHOW AT ZURICH FASHION WEEK

DARKOS presented its first official fashion show during Zurich Fashion Week at Kongresshaus Zurich. The runway became a physical representation of everything DARKOS stands for — fluidity, confidence, identity, and emotion. Herbert and Welbert designed and completed sixteen full looks in only five days, becoming the youngest African designers to present a fashionshow in Switzerland.

Zurich Fashion Week marked a defining moment for DARKOS, as the brand presented its first official fashion show on an international runway, bringing years of vision, experimentation, and belief to life. In an intense five-day creative process, Herbert Adjei Darko and Welbert Adjei Darko designed and completed sixteen full looks, dedicating every moment to designing, sourcing, fitting, styling, and refining. The collection embodied the true spirit of DARKOS—creating through emotion, movement, and purpose—while blending masculinity and femininity through strong tailoring and softer, expressive details. As the runway presentation began, the electric atmosphere reflected a milestone that would become one of the most important chapters in the evolution of the brand.

The audience responded immediately to the energy, the styling, and the emotional presence of the collection. What started as an ambitious challenge quickly became one of the most celebrated moments for the brand. For DARKOS, the show represented more than fashion. It represented resilience. Creative instinct. Risk-taking. Growth under pressure. Most importantly, it proved that DARKOS was capable of transforming vision into reality — even within impossible timelines. The Zurich Fashion Week presentation became a statement of identity and a reminder that meaningful creativity is not always born from comfort, but from belief. This was not simply a first fashion show. It was the moment DARKOS fully stepped into its future.

DARKOS’ first official runway presentation marked the brand’s debut on the international fashion stage, with founders Herbert Adjei Darko and Welbert Adjei Darko intentionally choosing Switzerland—a country not traditionally known as a fashion capital—to prove that creativity and culture can thrive anywhere. Driven by a desire to inspire, challenge perceptions, and connect people to fashion through storytelling and identity, they created opportunity where it was least expected. In just five days, they designed and completed sixteen full runway looks, pouring their creativity and dedication into every stage of the process, from concept development and garment construction to styling and final presentation.
